Phuket City Guide

Welcome to Phuket, Thailand’s quintessential “Tropical Paradise”. The island of Phuket (Poo Ket) is abundant with rubber plantations, swathes of bright green rice paddies, vast coconut palm forests, wide white sand beaches, lavish resorts and spas, excellent restaurants and earns its reputation as a world renowned resort destination.

At beautiful Patong Beach sunbathe on the clean, white sand beach where hundreds of Thai boys play volleyball wearing skimpy shorts during the day.
There is a Gay Beach, but not as prominent as it is in Pattaya. The beaches are much more beautiful than Pattaya’s, but the gay nightlife is smaller, albeit still lots of fun!
It is the Thailand’s largest island (49 km long by 27 km wide) and is perhaps Thailand’s most up-market tourist area where many first class resorts and world-class private homes are located.
Many astute travelers say Phuket is the most beautiful island in the world with the gentlest people in the world.
Next to Bangkok International Airport, Phuket has the most direct interntaional flights to Thailand. This is why Phuket has become such a popular resort destination for Europeans.
• See the sunset from the southernmost tip of the island—Promthep Cape. It is a romantic location to visit with your boyfriend or great for taking photos.
• Visit the amazing Mai Khao Beach (Phuket’s longest), 15 minutes north of the airport, where the giant, leatherback, sea turtles have been returning to where they were born to lay their eggs for uncounted centuries.
• Visit Phuket FantaSea drama show on Kamala Beach. It is a historical extravaganza dramatically presented in the 3,000-seat Palace of the Elephants Theatre. This all singing, all dancing, award-winning spectacle is a must-see! The buffet dinner at the 4,000-seat Golden Kinnaree Restaurant is a great value when bought with the show package. The additional charge for VIP seating upgrade is also worthwhile.
• Simon Cabaret is a fast-paced, female impersonation Cabaret show set in a beautiful theatre and a good value and is  a major tourist attraction.
• If you want to splurge for fine dining while you are in Phuket, then try Savoey Seafoods on Beach Road or with a short taxi ride, try the great Italian food at Da Maurizo on the water. For spectacular views of Patong Beach try the fabulous Royal Thai cuisine at the venerable Baan Rim Pa Restaurant.
