SPICE! Exclusive Interview with Miss International Queen 2009 - Gay - gay website

The contestant from Japan, Miss Haruna Ai, was crowned the winner at Tiffany’s last month and this is our exclusive interview with her given at the Woodlands Hotel where she was staying to SPICE! Magazine the evening after she was awarded the prestigious title - Miss International Queen 2009. She appeared in a colorful summer dress with beautiful flowers over her right ear.

Spice!: Good evening, thank you for meeting with SPICE! and congratulations on winning!
Ai: Thank you very much (with a big smile)

Spice!: How was your feeling last night?
Ai: I was so excited and shocked because I have never imagined that I would be the winner as other contestants were very beautiful and tall, especially the two contestants from Thailand. During the final 2 on the stage, my mind kept thinking that Miss Thailand, No 6, who stood right beside me would be announced as the winner.

Spice!: You have been staying here in Pattaya for a week, how do you feel toward Pattaya?
Ai: Pattaya is a beautiful city where many entertainment venues are located, especially the Tiffany Theatre where I do really feel like my second home away from home. I feel like Tiffany is my family. Another reason I like Pattaya very much is the beautiful beach here.

Spice!: Have you ever been here before?
Ai: Actually, I was here 2 years ago to participate in Miss International Queen 2007 but unfortunately I was disqualified in an early round because that was my first experience in a beauty pageant contest. So after that contest experience, I spent almost 2 years to prepare myself for this contest.

Spice!: It is expensive to travel abroad, do you have a sponsor?
Ai: I sponsor and pay everything myself from my savings. This is because it’s one of my highest dreams to be here.

Spice!: What is your profession in Japan?
Ai: I am currently working in the entertainment industry as a TV actress, singer, and brand ambassador for Loreal Cosmetics in Japan. She pulled out a copy of her new CD in pink with her picture on the cover and said, “I bring you a copy of my CD and my autograph and please don’t forget to help me promote this (with big smile)”

Spice: How big do you consider the Miss International Queen contest here in Thailand?
Ai: I consider this contest as the biggest and most powerful one in the world in which every transvestite dreams of and wants to have a chance in a lifetime being one of the contestants.

Spice!: Concerning legal perspective, have you ever thought about changing your sexual title from Mr. to Miss?
Ai: Honestly, I never thought about this kind of stuff. I was born as a male by nature, no matter what I try to do or change anything my entire inside and outside my body, still I am a male by nature. So I really never thought about this at all as it’s impossible to conflict with nature.

Spice!: When did you start to feel different?
Ai: I started to feel different around 3 or 4 years old or I should say I started to feel this since as long as I could remember.

Spice!: How did your family, friends or people around you say about you being feminine at your young age?
Ai: I was accepted by my family, friends and people around me. This is because I never tried to pretend to be one who I was not. I was open since I was young. The only problem I had at that time was my mother as she might wonder or curious on what happened to her son, but finally she accepted me.

Spice!: Do you still have your sexual organs?
Ai: No, I have already completed my operations since I was 18 years old and it’s been almost 10 years now.

Spice: Do you have boyfriend or in any relationships now?
Ai: I currently don’t have boy friend or in any relationship except a lovely dog. I used to have a boyfriend and we lived together 4 years.

Spice!: Have you ever dreamed of being a bride in a wedding with a man you love?
Ai: Sure, I had that dream and still have it now.

Spice!: What kind of a guy do you dream of?
Ai: Strong, handsome, romantic, little muscle and the most important is to understand about what I am and accept me unconditionally.

Spice! What are your plans for the future?
Ai: As I am a singer now, it would be so great if I could have my own concert abroad.

Spice: At 37 years old, you look very young, what is your secret to keep yourself young and with such beautiful skin?
Ai: The most important thing to remain beautiful and have healthy skin is about eating and resting. I eat a lot of fresh fruit, rest enough and I never leave my skin dry by using skin moisturizer regularly.

Spice!: What do you think about Thailand and Thai people?
Ai: I think Thailand is a very beautiful country and people are so friendly here. Thailand maintains many different and valuable cultures. I really want to come back to visit Thailand again in future when I have more time.

Spice!: Do you have any suggestions or recommendations to the next generation of transgender people who may intend to follow you?
Ai: They need to be patient and work hard before getting any successes. Keep doing and repeating on what they like in which they will succeed finally. Thank you all very much!
