The annual Final Four Days of events at the end of 2009 for the Pattaya Gay Festival (PGF) was held from November 29 to December 2 and raised over 545,000 baht in 4 days. The PGF is proud to have collected over 27 million baht in its 9 year history from the various fund-raising events and generous supporters and is the oldest and largest fund raising Gay Charity in Thailand.

Jim Lumsden, the inspiration and founder of the PGF charity stated they had planned many surprises in the programs to entertain all guests in the various celebrations and fundraisers, and did they ever!  The Pattaya Gay Festival primarily supports the HIV/AIDS work of the Heartt2000 foundation of Dr. Philippe Seur in Pattaya, but also Take Care! (providing condoms and safe sex messages to bar workers) and other needy causes.

The first event was on Sunday 29 November called the Mr. Pattaya Pride 2009 contest at Boyz Boyz Boyz Man Club at 10:30pm. The name Pattaya Pride from now on will be the official title for the Pattaya Gay Festival charity.
The second night on Monday 30 November was a fun “Handbag Auction” night for all to enjoy at three venues including Boyz Boyz Boyz Man Club, Copa Show Bar and Oscar’s Bar which were merged as one entertainment venue in which all guests entered the 3 venues freely. They held a charity auction for guests to get handbags prepared by the 3 bars. Inside each bag was treasures in either gold chains, cash vouchers or Jim’s hand-me-downs. All the proceeds of the auction went to the PGF charity.

The third day on Tuesday December 1 2009 it was the turn of The Venue in Jomtien Complex who held a PGF  World AIDS Day Extravaganza to remind people about the continuing concern over HIV /AIDS. The evening featured appearances by Madame Karen, JJ, Lucy Lastik, Dolly John, Thai magicians and jugglers, Jaime Arabani and a handsome Thai singer Khun Tan. The evening raised 140,000 baht for PGF Charity.

The final night on Wednesday 2 December was the PGF annual Street Party held every year in Boyztown featuring many entertainers on stage. It had lots of special guests and was the farewell party for the Pattaya Gay Festival Title before using the new ‘Pattaya Pride’ name in 2010. The event was attended by well-known English charitable gay person and entertainer, Jason, who flew in from the UK, as well as singer Jo Frances along with many performers, cabaret acts from Boyz Boyz Boyz and Copa Cabarets. There was a lucky draw with many great prizes including a Honda Motorcycle donated by Dame Ruby and a 100,000 baht donation from Archie, a frequent supporter of the PGF.

PGF Final Four Days Events - Travel - PGF PattayaSPICE! has always supported the PGF charities for many years as they have made huge differences in the lives of those less fortunate.  This is due to the “Good Hearts” of all those who contribute, from the many Gay & Gay-Friendly businesses, the people who live here and visitors to Pattaya who support all the PGF events. Jim Lumsden, Richard Burk of Amor the current chairman and all the PGF committee volunteers say a BIG THANK YOU! and we wish all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and hope to see you at the various PGF, now Pattaya Pride, events in 2010!
