Gone are the uses of terms like “low” and “high” season to describe travel to Phuket because tourists who have come and love “the Pearl of the Andaman” now visit year-round during the what are now most often referred to as the “winter” and “summer” seasons. From pristine beaches to stunning waterfalls, soaring cliffs and rain forests, Phuket offers the quintessential tropical resort vacation, complete with exotic nightlife. The coolest time of year and the busiest in Phuket is November through February, when most of the tourists on the island have escaped bitter cold back home. September and October are the island’s rainiest months. April and May are your most humid.

Thailand-based, American entrepreneur Mr. Jan Lewis Gregson, age 45, has died at his home in Chiang Mai. Known as “Jay”, he and his Thai partner Khun Daen converted an old, run down hotel in Chiang Mai into the largest gay-oriented hotel resort in Thailand. Jay’s dream was to have the premier gay tourist destination in Asia at affordable prices so all could enjoy. It did not start that way.

The First Charity Dinner under the new name change of Pattaya Pride was held at Bruno’s Restaurant by Chateau Dale on Thappraya Road in Jomtien on January 10th since the Pattaya Gay Festival (PGF) changed its name from its beginning in 2001. Chef Fredi did his usual magic and all the guests enjoyed his gastronomical multi-course creations again this year.

The annual Final Four Days of events at the end of 2009 for the Pattaya Gay Festival (PGF) was held from November 29 to December 2 and raised over 545,000 baht in 4 days. The PGF is proud to have collected over 27 million baht in its 9 year history from the various fund-raising events and generous supporters and is the oldest and largest fund raising Gay Charity in Thailand.
